’tis the season, I guess. Right? We’re laid low in this house lately by colds. Could be worse. But T has been home sick all week, and I had all 3 yesterday. I’m feeling better, but I just can’t shke this cough. So forgive the radio silence this week, but I’ll try to do better next week.

Things are getting busy around here. We’re choosing, cutting and decorating THE TREE this weekend. Shopping, wrapping, shipping, baking & more……………….

A neighborhood brother&sister pair come over to play the other day. The sister is in C’s first grade class.  I came across this basic concept at Kids Craft Weekly & broke it out to start out playtime. They all loved it, and the twins kept coming back to it time and again. C got a pretty good house, garage and driveway out of it. Here’s O’s ant:

I made this hat for C over the weekend – my first attempt at stranded colorwork! I think it came out well – it’s a great beginner’s pattern.

Also made these two Aviatrix hats (rav link) for the baby twins in our moms-of-multiples club’s holiday Adopt-a-Family. They look a lot cuter on someone’s head. I looked everywhere for a teddy bear head or a melon or something, but no luck.

Last weekend during our visit to Mass. we made the requisite stop at Bass Pro in Foxboro. Lots of fun as always, and the boys got to make their second foray into The Ocean Spray Bog. Good times.

(Yes, there is some construction in these last two shots. I guess they’re rehabing another big bog. Or something.)

Here’s another dose of fibery goodness from my recent trip to Vermont. Today’s installment (& the last if I remember right) is from Green Mountain Fiber in Rutland.

My knitty companion Christine had been here back in July & was looking forward to returning. But she felt the inventory had been scaled back a fair amount, with more books added. She was pumped about snagging some handspun, but actually we both left empty-handed. It’s a cute shop, and I loved the chance to fondle some Green Mountain Spinnery. I also loved the brick floor, as well as the impressive & inspirational displays of love for our troops (here’s just one):
