S-O-X!

It’s amazing how different it feels as a Sox fan watching my team in the World Series in 2007 vs. in 2004. It’s like a totally different universe. I feel now, as I did 3 Novembers ago, that I almost can’t envision what it will be like for my kids as Red Sox fans. It’s an utter and complete paradigm shift. They will not be able to relate to us old-timers, and will ask us questions that will make us shake our heads. But how can I be anything but sooooooo thankfully to my new hero and god, Theo Epstein, for saving a new generation of fans from our fate.

None of  my boys have seen one playoff game in their lives, and for that I am mostly thankful seeing as a) Joe Buck and Tim McCarver make me want to shove my knitting needles into my eyeballs, and b) they couldn’t possibly have the attention span needed to last a whole series in the new, for-ratings-only, drawn-out version of the MLB playoffs. I can’t believe the Rockies had to sit for NINE days. I’m horrified and I’m not even a Rockies fan. If I were, I might be found on a hunger strike at Bud Selig‘s front door. Then again, I love to eat. Maybe a knit-in would be just as effective?

Anyhoo, Game 2 is in 90 minutes, and I’m psyched. Dad’s coming over to watch, and my mindless knitting is ready to go. And dammit, I had to go by the Halloween candy today instead of on the 30th. I’ll likely just have to go buy more on the 30th. {sigh}

Go SOX!!

I love Maine. I hate mosquitoes. I prefer the bottom half of a muffin to the top. Baseball yes. Boxing no. Oh, and I have 3 boys in middle school. This is my blog.
