So, after a night in the sleep lab, O appears to have mild obstructive sleep apnea with approximately 8 “interruptions” per hour. We’ll meet with the specialist again in the next 2-3 weeks to go over the full report and discuss the options.
Unfortunately, O was the only one in the sleep lab. While he snored away, I laid awake listening to that as well as 1) people using and flushing the nearby toilet, 2) laughter, 3) vacuuming & I’m pretty sure 4) the occasional big rig. In addition, neither of us had fitted sheets & I certainly didn’t have enough blankets. Conducive to sleep it wasn’t. You would think adding to that about 20 different sensors pasted to your scalp, face, neck & chest and two belts holding more sensors would be the straw that broke the O-bear’s back. Thankfully, he’s 4 & loves to sleep. He was out in 5 minutes flat at about 8:00pm. Wake-up was at 5:56am. Technically. I was awake at 4am. I’m pretty sure 12-4am was somewhat solid shut-eye for Mommy. Good times.
Monday after Christmas break it is! We made it! Phew. I’m looking forward to some routine. And knitting. And sleep.
