A couple weeks ago, we ventured out to the nearest outdoor rink with rentals to try our hand at ice skating. Unfortunately, for no apparent reason, the outdoor rink was iceless and closed. So we headed insides, which did have the benefit of a wall to hold onto while “skating”. It was mildly crowded and very loud thanks to the music filling the arena, but it ended up working out well.
I, being the only one who person in our party who owned skates, was the resident expert. Scary stuff. Being outnumbered by small children who had never skated only compounded matters. So the twins and I left the big boys to their own devices and “took off” on our own. I did head out with C as well at the end, and helped show him that a little speed can sometimes help, not hurt, matters. I think things ended on a good note, helped by the bake sale out in the lobby.
Here are the few pics I managed to snap. Don’t worry – I carried the camera in a hard-sided case.
That’s all for this week. Most of us are off to visit the g-parents! I’ll likely continue to tweet, if you care.
Have a nice week/end!
